Following this tutorial will explain to you how you can configure Cacti Server Monitor step by step if you hadn't installed it yet you can simply install Cacti Server from here. Today I am going to go through a quick installation of these templates into a new cacti install and then add a windows server 2008 to monitor. I will be using a new Ubuntu Server 12.04 install for the cacti server. Once the server is built install cacti using the following and follow the screenshots.

Installnew installations where you have noCacti existing components installed (i.e. Cacti, MySQL, Apache, PHP). It installs the latest Cacti compatible versions of all needed applications in their default locations (per the install guide), configures them, and should give you a fully functional Cacti.
This installer lets you choose between using IIS or Apache web server. It'll also install 64bit versions of Apache/MySQL/PHP/Net-SNMP, where applicable. Disable your anti-virus for the installer -- it runs some scripts that configure IIS, MySQL, files and NTFS permissions. Some anti-virus block these events from properly occurring.
Don't forget to follow the post-install instructions and restart the server before trying to access the Cacti website! After the installer is done, you can check cacti-installer.log for errors. Lastly, to upgrade Cacti, follow this guide.

A little over four years ago I spent some time learning cacti and snmpto come up with a good solution to monitor Windows Servers. I had usedCacti several times previous to then, but never found any graphs that Ireally liked or any that would give me the level of detail that I waslooking for. So I created my own and shared back to the Cacti community. To this day I still use these daily at home and at work, and theycontinue to work well. Today I am going to go through a quickinstallation of these templates into a new cacti install and then add awindows server 2008 to monitor.

I will be using a new Ubuntu Server 12.04 install for the cacti server.Once the server is built install cacti using the following and followthe screenshots.
