- Cisco Asdm Windows 10 Unable To Launch Device Manager
Hi Aditya, There is no 'Medium' security settings in Java 1.8.077 control panel on Windows 10. Lowest setting is 'High'. Since this is not Java Web Start edition of ASDM but coming from the ASDM-IDM Launcher, adding the ASA IP address to the Exception Site List had no effect on the issue.

Problem
Most of the time I’m on my mac for work, but sometimes when the ADSM fails, I switch to a windows VM (in VMware Fusion). I recently upgraded to Windows 10, and for the most part that’s been a painless process.
I did notice though, that when I try to run the ADSM, it will let me install the software, then sit there doing nothing?

Solution
Install the ADSM if you have not previously done so, then navigate to C:Program Files (x86) Cisco SystemsASDM > Locate the adsm-launcher.jar file and create a shortcut to it on the desktop.
Now use that to launch the ASDM and, (after a few seconds, it is Java) it should load.
And for those of you muggles who don’t work at command line, your life can be filled with GUI goodness.

Problem
Windows 10 machine, (with Latest Java installed), while attempting to launch the ASDM you see;
Windows cannot find ‘javaw.exe’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

Solution

I should have fixed this a lot quicker than I did, because the error message was a lot more descriptive in older versions of Windows and the ASDM! This is the same problem seen on Windows 8.

You still need to install the x32 bit versions of Java! once you do it will work fine.
